Lane Ogle

 1972 -

    Lane Ogle is the great-grandson of Hin Hotewin and William Hall Ogle. As a young boy his grandfather, Joe Ogle, introduced him to horses and encouraged him to ride. He also taught him to swing a loop and Lane spent hours practiscing.
After completing high school at Wood Mountain, Lane became interested in steer wrestling and began practicing with a

 group of local cowboys. Finally, he says, he got up enough nerve to enter a rodeo.
     When he did well he said it was because of his lucky shirt and then when the shirt ripped he said all the luck went out of it. Lane continues to steer wrestle on the CCA circuit in Saskatchewan.
    One of Lane's proudest moments was when he could present his grandfather with a picture taken the day he first got into the prize money.
