A copy of a Corticelli Home Needlework magazine, dated 1900.
There are 166 numbered pages and several unnumbered pages of
advertising. It contains many articles on embroidery and crochet,
also an article on "As Women Will Appear",
fashions for the 1900 summer season.
The practice of covering books and magazines with a protective
brown paper cover has evidently been followed for many years by
fastidious people and school children. Sometimes covers were made
from formerly used wrapping paper and paper bags, but covers were
also given away, printed with advertising for companies.

Domestically made hardwood compass used to measure thickness.
This tool was probably made by a Quebecer, namely Mr. Didier
Lebreux, who used it to manufacture violins between 1933 and 1954.
This rudimentary compass is adjusted using a (commercial) metal
screw and a (home-made) spring. (French
