A float carrying women munitions workers parades down Montreal's Sherbrooke Street in a 1918 Victory Loan parade. These women epitomized the patriotic war effort on the home front. Their presence in the parade was meant to encourage spectators to buy war bonds, which lent the government money to pay for the war.
