Between Two Worlds: Sculpture by David Ruben Piqtoukun

1997-1998: First Peoples Hall

(Winnipeg Art Gallery)

In this exhibition you will discover the most recent interpretation of non-inuit influences which have altered the traditional culture and influenced Mr. Piqtoukun's life while continuing to explore the shamanic themes that fascinate him. Traditional imagery created from an expanded use of different materials, serves as the vehicle for expressing the artist's powerful thoughts and emotions as he attemps to maintain his balance "between two worlds".
