Grand Hall
Six Native houses, connected by a Pacific coast shoreline and boardwalk, portray the rich cultural history of the First Peoples of the Northwest Coast.
The displays focus primarily on traditional culture, while the exhibits inside the houses examine contemporary issues. The Museum is home to the world’s largest and finest collection of totem poles, many of which are displayed in the Grand Hall.
PLEASE NOTE:
The interiors of the six Grand Hall houses are currently undergoing major renovations and are closed to the public. However, the Grand Hall itself—including the house facades, the boardwalk and the totem poles—are accessible to the public. Only the gallery spaces behind the facades are affected.
The interior of the houses will reopen in 2013.
