Operantics!—Cinderella
Opera Lyra Ottawa presents a delightful 20-minute excerpt from Gioachino Rossini's version of the Cinderella story. If you listen closely, you will hear Cinderella singing about a king who finds his wife among the common people. Cinderella—a kind and patient girl who finds herself a maid in her own household—doesn’t realize that she is singing about her own future.
Music by Gioachino Rossini
Adaptation by Ann Hodges
This 20 minute performance accompanied by piano is a delightful way to introduce children, especially those under 12 years of age, to the world of opera.
