PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

Gatineau, Quebec, October 26, 2012 — The Canadian Museum of Civilization is inviting Canadians from coast to coast to take part in the creation of the new Canadian Museum of History.
From October 2012 to January 2013, the Museum will hit the road to visit Canadians across the country to ask them what they would like to see in their new history museum. The first session will be held at the Museum on Saturday, October 27.
Visitors are invited to share their ideas, talk about the events and milestones that tell the Canadian story, propose a Canadian personality that best represents their generation and choose objects that they would include in their history museum. This first public meeting will be held in the Museum’s Lobby from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and take the form of hands-on activities sure to please every member of the family.

In November, a series of public engagement sessions will be held in Vancouver (British
Columbia), Fredericton (New Brunswick), Halifax (Nova Scotia) and St. John’s (Newfoundland), followed by Edmonton (Alberta), Saskatoon (Saskatchewan ), Toronto (Ontario) and Montréal (Quebec) in December before returning to Gatineau in January, 2013.
