David Suzuki is Canada’s best-known environmentalist, achieving prominence primarily as host of the long-running CBC television program The Nature of Things and his work with the David Suzuki Foundation. He is a leading advocate for government action on climate change. Suzuki began his career as an academic, serving close to four decades as a professor of genetics at the University of British Columbia. He has received numerous awards and honours in Canada and abroad, including over 25 honorary degrees. Media polls in this country have consistently identified Suzuki as being among the most trusted and admired Canadians
