Added by you! Sir Isaac Brock

Sir Isaac Brock was the charismatic and courageous military commander who (in an alliance with the Aboriginal leader Tecumseh) is credited with defending Upper Canada against American invasion during the first months of the War of 1812. Having launched his military career by buying a commission in the army at age 15, Brock arrived in Canada in1802 and later became administrator of Upper Canada and commander of its military forces. He was known for his ability to detect and manipulate uncertainty in his opponents. Brock’s daring attack on Fort Detroit, for example, was based on his knowledge of dissention in American ranks and of trepidation on the part of the fort’s commander.  Brock was shot in the chest and killed at the Battle of Queenston Heights.  His body is buried there—interred beneath a massive monument to Brock that dominates the landscape.
