Suffragette flag and Ballot Box

This flag represents the Women’s Social and Political Union, founded inBritainin 1903 to campaign for women’s suffrage. Among the founders was Emmeline Pankhurst, who in 1913 reputedly gave this flag to Canadian-born suffragette Mary Richardson at a political rally.
