Added by you! Tecumseh

Tecumseh (“Shooting Star”) was a Shawnee chief, leader of a confederacy of First Nations, and a brilliant military strategist whose efforts were key to the British successes in the War of 1812.  Tecumseh’s family had been dislodged from Ohio when he was a child, creating a lifelong disdain for the expansionist Americans and a belief that only unity among First Nations provided any hope of survival.  Beginning in 1809, he made six long journeys for the cause of Aboriginal unity.  Although he doubted the trustworthiness of the British, Tecumseh viewed an alliance with Britain as unavoidable in the face of continual American expansion.  Fighting alongside Sir Isaac Brock, Tecumseh made central contributions to various allied victories, including the American surrender at Detroit.  Tecumseh was killed in battle near Moraviantown (current-day Thamesville, Ontario) in 1813.
