    Group Entrance

    The Canadian Museum of Civilization has a designated private group entrance underground for drop-off and pick-up of visitors. The group entrance is a nice area where visitors are welcomed to the Museum and group registration is processed with the Group Leader. A coat check for the group is available.

    Bus Parking

    Free bus parking is available from May 1 to October 31 on a first come, first served basis. Bus parking is located next to the Canadian Museum of Civilization. Additional free parking is available year round at the Robert Guertin Arena, a few minutes from the Museum.

GROUP AND FIT RATES

  • Group and FIT rates for 2012-2013
  • The group rate applies to groups of 20 people or more.
  • Free admission for children under the age of three.
  • When you buy a combination including activities at the Canadian Museum of Civilization and the Canadian War Museum, tickets are valid for three consecutive days – STARTING ON THE DAY OF THE FIRST VISIT.
  • Each combination of experiences applies to a single group. They cannot be separated and are non-transferable.
  • As the Canadian Children’s Museum can be very busy, you are strongly advised to reserve a time slot. If attendance is high, groups without a reservation may not be permitted access.
  • Adult group leaders must remain with students or children at all times.
  • Admission fees are subject to change. All taxes are included.
  • IMAX feature length films are special presentations. No group rates apply.
  • Prices may vary for special-featured films.

    Group Meals

    The Canadian Museum of Civilization offers group meal options for small and large groups, from casual cafeteria style to fine dining.

    Bistro Boréal
    The newly opened Bistro Boréal offers a tasty, affordable menu in an amazing decor and ambiance inspired by northern lights. Renowned chef Georges Laurier has created a menu inspired by a selection of classic Canadian ingredients. Outside terrace opened in the summer.

    Voyageurs Cafeteria
    The Voyageurs Cafeteria offers a wide range of breakfast, lunch, box lunch and snack options. The Cafeteria offers a large terrace overlooking the Ottawa River and Parliament Hill.

    The Lunchbox
    The Lunchbox, located near the Group Reception Area, is ideal for student groups who prefer to bring their lunch. It has drink and snack machines and can accommodate 140 people at a time. Seating is on a first come, first served basis.

    Guided Tours

    Through artifact collections, research, exhibitions and public programs, the Museum works to preserve the heritage of Canadians and promote the cultures of Canada and the world.

    Discover the living history of Canada! Treat yourself to a guided tour of one of our permanent halls. All tours last approximately 45 minutes and cost $3.00 per person.

    New – Grand Tour
    Discover the highlights and must-sees of the Museum with this new 1 hour Grand Tour. Learn about the architecture of the Museum, the Grand Hall, First People traditions and Canada Hall in one tour.

    Audio Tours

    The Canada Hall audio tour offers a fast-paced visit through the Museum’s most popular permanent exhibition, depicting 1,000 years of the country’s history. Adventure stories, engaging monologues, anecdotes and music bring the past to life.

    The First Peoples audio tour presents the history and continuing contribution of Aboriginal peoples in Canada. Through authentic narration, quotes, songs and legends, the audio tour adds meaning and rhythm to your journey.

    The Canadian Museum of Civilization offers visitor floor plans in multiple languages:

    The Canadian Museum of Civilization is also proud to offer audio guides in German and in Mandarin. Audio guides are available for groups at the cost of $3 per audio guide.
