Leslie Tepper

Dr. Tepper has worked with First Nation communities of British Columbia’s Plateau and Northwest Coast in the development of exhibitions and publications. She has participated in discussions about culture and heritage at Treaty tables, and works with Aboriginal Museums and First Nation cultural officers to help preserve traditional and contemporary material culture. Her exhibitions and publications have focused on Interior Salish clothing, Plateau Aboriginal ranching life and argillite carving, among other subjects. One of her current research interests is the study of traditional weaving, particularly the hemp and willow bark textiles of the Interior Salish and Coast Salish woollen blankets and robes.
