Nadja Roby


Head, Liaison and Research, Ethnology Collection

Ms. Roby has an MA in Anthropology from Carleton University and a graduate certificate in Museum Studies from Sir Sandford Fleming College.  She joined the staff of the Ethnology department in 1997 as a Native History Researcher and is responsible for managing and coordinating the Ethnology department’s participation in Canadian land claims and implementing the repatriation of objects through treaty negotiation.  Her main research area is the history of Canadian ethnographic collecting.  Current projects include research on the early collecting of Canadian Aboriginal material cultural and the development of the National Collection.
