Property Management, Hosting and Security Services provide hosting and protection services to the public during their visit at the CMCC. They ensure the quality of visitor service at all levels of interaction with the public. The division is also responsible for maintaining the necessary security, fire and related safety systems to protect the visitor, employees and the national collections.
General Objectives
The division will focus on providing:
- an overview of hosting programs and the role of the reception/tour guides, hosts and hostesses
- demonstrations of the importance of health, safety and emergency preparedness
- a summary of security procedures, guidelines and standards
Specific Learning Outcomes
The interns will attend seminars which will cover techniques and procedures in the following areas:
- museum rules and policy on health protection and operational security
- ensuring quality visitor services, catering to visitor needs and providing effective response
- host and guide techniques-group orientation, presentation skills and aids
- teamwork in a visitor-oriented environment
- auditing program effectiveness:
- analysing visitor surveys
- studying visitor comments, observations and complaints
- facilities management-the importance of proper security procedures, controlling loss and theft, fire alarm systems-fire protection and disaster planning
